Tyler MacAvoy is a Changemaker for Fostering Success Michigan, meaning he’s a peer mentor for Kent County college students who have experience in foster care, homelessness, and/or refugee status.
I love this role because my own experience with housing instability as a college student was tough and incredibly isolating. I am eager to be a support for other students who may be experiencing similar struggles, and serve as a helpful person to connect with them and connect them to helpful resources.
I always bring my authentic self, which includes my passions for advocacy, meaningful change, and empathetic human connection.
